Known Incompatible Applications

  • Norton Clean Sweep.  This program changes dates on files and can cause our installations and updates to behave erratically.  To resolve this, you must turn off Clean Sweep, then Uninstall RealFlight (or RealRace) and ReInstall.

  • Nuts-n-Bolts: Causes problems starting RealFlight and RealRace

Suspected Incompatible Applications/Hardware

These have not been confirmed, but reported to us by our customers.

  • indeo windvd - "I just fixed a crash on startup involving a gp fault in a file IVIAUDIO.AX. It turns out the source is the app "indeo windvd". Once I removed this, the program was fine."

  • Aureal based sound cards - They are out of business and therefore if the drivers you have don't work, you will not be able to get new ones.

  • 3dfx based cards - They are out of business and therefore if the drivers you have don't work, you wont be able to get new ones.

  • MSI mainboards (motherboard) - "The system consists of a MSI K7T Turbo-R, 2x128 MByte DIMM, 1x256 MByte DIMM and the Bios was 3.1. When all three memory slots are in use the PC crashes when using DirectX. With 2 DIMM's everything works fine. Going back to 2.9 solved the problem. This problem is stated by other users of the MSI mainboards."
