How can I test basic Sound Card functionality?

Applies To

RealFlight G2
RealFlight G2 Lite
RealFlight NexSTAR Edition
RealRace G2

Answer

If you are having sound problems using RealFlight G2 or RealRace G2, you should see if the problem occurs with the basic Sound Card functionality.  Do do this, you can run Play3DSound, a program written by Microsoft which is designed to test the basic Sound Card functionality.  If it you see the same problems with Play3DSound, you should assume the problem is with your sound card driver, sound card, or other computer conflict.

To run Play3DSound:

  1. Start the RealFlight Control Panel (Start Menu/Programs/RealFlight) - (Or RealRace)

  2. Click on the Technical Support button

  3. Click on the Sound button
