Manually installing the Transmitter Interface Drivers under Windows XP

Resolution

Windows XP users must manually install the transmitter interface driver.

RealFlight G2

RealFlight G2 owners must update their software to at least version 2.00.327.

If you have not yet installed the RealFlight G2 software on your PC, please follow the procedure below.

  1. Install the RealFlight G2 software as per the instructions included with the CD-ROM. Do NOT run the software at the end of the installation procedure. Proceed to step 2, below to update the software.

  2. BEFORE running RealFlight To do so, click the Windows Start menu, select Program Files, RealFlight and then the RealFlight Control Panel. In the Control Panel click on the Online Updates button and update the software to the latest version. This update will include the necessary drivers for the transmitter interface adapter. Proceed to the first step in manually installing the transmitter interface drivers below.

If you have already tried running the RealFlight G2 software and it is version 2.00.321 or LESS, follow the procedure below prior to manually installing the transmitter interface drivers.

  1. Completely uninstall the RealFlight software. To do so, click the Start menu, select Program Files, and then RealFlight. Select the RealFlight Control Panel followed by the Uninstall RealFlight button. Click each of the boxes to ensure that ALL RealFlight files are removed from your PC.

  2. After all files and data are deleted, reinstall the software once again, however, do NOT run the program. Instead, please proceed to step 3, below.

  3. Reinstall the transmitter interface drivers once again. Start with Step 1 below.

RealFlight and RealFlight Deluxe

RealFlight or Deluxe owners should download the latest version of their software from www.realflight.com. This update will include the necessary drivers for the transmitter interface adapter. Proceed to step 1 below.

To manually install the transmitter interface adapter under Windows XP, do the following steps:

  1. Click the Windows Start menu, and then Control Panel. In the Control Panel click on Performance and Maintenance.


  2. Click on System


  3. Click on the Hardware Tab


  4. Click Next


  5. Choose Yes, and then click Next


  6. Choose Add a new hardware device, and click Next


  7. Click on Install the Hardware… and click Next


  8. Click on Show All Devices, and then click Next


  9. Click on Have Disk


  10. Browse and find the RealFlight folder on your hard disk.  This file should be located in c:\program files\realflight. Then click on OK.


  11. Click on Next


  12. Click on Next


  13. You are done!  Now click Finish.
