After
successfully installing, there is no icon on the desktop or files in the
RealFlight folder.
RealFlight Deluxe
RealFlight Classic
The software indicates that the program has been installed successfully yet the RealFlight folder does not contain any data or other such
files and the RealFlight icon on the desktop does not appear.
Occasionally DirectX will interfere with the proper installation of the RealFlight software. As such, we suggest that you reinstall the software.
-
To restart the installation, eject the RealFlight CD-ROM from the CD-ROM drive.
-
Close ALL open applications. This includes virus checkers and other such applications.
-
If ”Auto-Play” is active setup will begin automatically when you close the CD-ROM drive. However, if “Auto-Play” is not active, click the Windows Start button, then click Run; when a dialog box appears type d:\setup, assuming that “d:” is your CD-ROM drive.
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup procedure. The setup procedure will ask you for the serial number of the RealFlight software. This number is located on the back of the CD-ROM case. Depending upon your respective software, the program might also ask for the serial number for the InterLink controller or transmitter interface adapter. The InterLink serial number is located on the rear of the InterLink controller itself. The transmitter interface adapter serial number is located on the interface unit itself.
Please be sure to enter the numbers exactly as they appear. When entering the serial numbers please make sure that you include all dashes, letters, etc. as found on the product serial numbers. Failure to enter the serial numbers correctly will not allow you to proceed to the next step. Once the serial numbers have been appropriately entered, the Next button will become active. Click on the Next button to continue with the installation procedure.
-
Upon completion of the program setup, the installation process will continue by inquiring if you would like to install Microsoft’s DirectX on your computer. Please click No at this time.
-
Click Finish to complete this portion of the software installation procedure.
-
Access the information, or data, on the CD-ROM. Click the Windows Start button, then click Run; when a dialog box appears type d:\, assuming that “d:” is your CD-ROM drive. Click OK to access
the RealFlight CD-ROM.
-
Locate the DirectX folder on this CD-ROM. Using your mouse, double-click on the DirectX folder to reveal its contents. Once the DirectX folder has been opened, click on the dxsetup icon and follow the onscreen instructions to install DirectX once again.
